Today is Archs birthday and yesterday was his avatars rezday (4 years…he’s old..).
Happy Birthday/Rez Day Arch!

Well now that we have that update out of the way….
Our clans continue to grow, and its about time we introduced a new division.
So lets all welcome this new division and its clans!
Kitten Division is for those clans that don’t like using katanas
but instead prefer to socialize outside of the dueling arena, Esprite Xavier
will be heading up this division as he has a lot of experience in that area.
All kitten division members must report to the dueling arena and begin training
immediately. Glare at the duelers with lots of energy and spirit!

Hey everyone we released another patch today!
The change log is as follows be sure to update as older swords will not work with updated ones!

Samurai Island Combat System - Patch v1.4.3

Features:
- New Inventory Item: Throwable Kunai
Tweaks/BugFixes:
- How hits and blocks are handled has been modified:
- Blocking should now be more responsive,
- It is now impossible to knock someone out of a block (getting a vulnerable hit is another matter)
- Tweak to reduce the occurance of accidental specials
- Kick damage has been modified, kicks are now more effective
- The attack speeds on ALL katana have been matched across the board
- Inventory gesture buttons have been swapped around (now F2 - F4) for easier use in battle
-Block animations fixed on Musashi Blades
-Some color additions and tweaks on Musashi Blades
-Fixed a prim on Musashi Eternal not disappearing
-Click to draw functionality added to all Ashes C:SI blades
-Drawing and Sheathing gestures changed to F5-F6/Shift F5-F6 on all Ashes C:SI blades

Sorry for the late late post everyone!
Well we had our first clan tournament with the new rules, and though we had a few bumps along the way it turned out ok!
Tendai-shu won first place and was grand champion, $20 J-list gift certificate + 8k
Ancients of Eternity came in second but still won their division! 5k!
Yasei Reikon came in third! 2k!
Ayame also hosted several rounds of Master’s Treasure after and the pots went over 10k several times! Thanks Ayame and all those who donated to the game, and special thanks for all those who donated to Relay for Life!
We did learn from this experience though, so I will be making some adjustments for next tournament, will continue discussions in http://forums.combatsi.com/viewtopic.php?t=85
Also yeah, next event needs a clan sponsor, if your clan wants to sponsor the next one let me know!

C:SI Clan Tournament - Feb 24th - 6pm SLT |

Samurai Giri will be hosting the first of hopefully repeating bi-weekly/monthly clan touranments, in honor of their founder Amber Suising.
The tournament will be held on Saturday Feb 24th, 6pm SLT.
Each clan’s team must have 4 members.
Current Tournament Guidelines as of Today
-Tournament is a 1on1 bracket style. Setup for initial matches will be divided as per division, then based on wins from the last tournament (clans that made it to the final rounds will fight each other from the start).
The first tournament will be a randomized order per division.
-Clans must provide 1 different person per match, clan masters cannot participate in the final match. 4 People at least for the full length of the tournament.
-Two matches should be conducted at once until the last round.
-Wild Card* spots can be reserved for teams that are not official clans, these are spots in the bracketing that does not have a clan participating.
Teams must have 4 members to participate. If the wild card spot is unable to be filled, then the other team /clan in that bracket will win by default. (hope to get lucky when the brackets are arranged)
*These spots are first come first serve.
-The clans/teams that do not win the division championship will duel for 3rd place.
All clan leaders must let me know if they plan to attend or not by Thursday Feb 22nd in order to allow wild card teams enough time to apply for open slots. (any who don’t will lose their spot automatically.)
Any open spaces will be used as wildcard slots for unofficial teams.
Prizes will be announced before the tournament.

Amber Suising is very ill and will no longer be with us.
We’d all like to wish her the best, and thank her for being a friend.
Goodbye Notecard from Amber:
hiyas everyone, yes it me saying good bye. trust me i wish i didn’t have to. i know i have been asked many times why i can spend so much time in secondlife.
6 months ago i was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. i was given 3 months to live. hehe, so i guess i have beaten the odds ~
under the advise of my doctor i stopped my kimo about a month ago. no one seemed to think it would make a difference. by the way sorry for the long bouts of afk but sometimes just wasnt able to hold my head up.
so, unable to walk far or to be able to goto work any longer, i found an amazing place called secondlife where i could still dance and run and event fly. hope this doesnt sound to pathetic, but i guess it would be hard to understand if ya not in my shoes
but anyway, i just no longer have the strength to sit at the computer, i knew i should have gotten a lap top my mother is staying with all the time now so i am not alone.
i want to thank you all, for giving me a place where there was no pain.
i will never forget any of you

Samurai Edo Officially Opens and Update 1.4.2 |

Hello Everyone,
Hope you all had a awesome holiday, anyways we released the 1.4.2 update yesterday.
Included were bug fixes for the Ashes weapons, and a fix to combat announcements.
Other than that we had the grand opening event for Samurai Edo yesterday! Thousands of linden were given away to the various winners of the different events, but I hope everyone had fun. We’ll still be changing things around Edo, but we encourage you to explore the sim and try dueling in different places. (I personally like fighting in the fields with mouselook. ^^). Let us know your thoughts about the new Sim on the Forums

We took down the old Battleground shortly after first opening it the other day. I hope everyone enjoyed it while it lasted. The mall area will be expanded and a new gate will be made between sims.
If you haven’t seen already Archanox got the clan page running. If your looking to join a clan you can now view their information and logos on that page. (I’ll try to keep it updated.) We’ll be updating the landmark links on the site shortly as well.
We thank everyone for their support this year, and hope next year our community (and the dynamics of this game) will continue to grow.

Features:
-Directional Blocking: Blocking is now only effective in a 270 degree arc in front of you, an opponent attacking from behind will now BE ABLE to hit you, even if you are blocking.
Tweaks:
-The sensitivity for causing a dash by double tapping has been reduced by quite a bit. This should help with people accidentally dashing during a fight.
Bug Fixes:
-Fixed blade trails which broke due to the latest SL patch.
-Inventory items are now working again.
-It should now not be possible to get in hits on a guarding enemy by ramming them and then attacking.
Other News:

Hello all, the C:SI system was updated to v1.4 today with some exciting features!
Wear/Reattach your weapons to update it may take a few minutes.
Features:
-Web Based Scoring: All scores are now stored on an external server that will allow us to expand the system greatly in the future. This is in Beta! Scores may be wiped.
Each sim will have it’s own scores seperate from the rest of the grid, your HUD will tell you your score in the Sim you are in.
Bug Fixes:
-Fixed a glitch with dashing that would cause you to automatically dash when strafing.
-Blade trails will now shrink until you go into combat stance, preventing accidental clicks.
Optimizations:
-Script counts in all weapons and sheathes has been reduced DRASTICALLY, by as much as 90% for some weapons.
Also we have some ads running on the site now to help pay for bandwidth costs. Jlist and Google Adsense. Buy me a tachikoma! Hehe.
