Introducing the Musashi Legends Series: Fantasy style weapons with a bit of flare.

I have been wanting to make a variety of weapons for some time now, but my love for the katana has kept me focused on trying to perfect my design skills on making them. Now I feel with the latest release of the Gotokuneko Katana, that I can focus on adding a bit of variety to the weapons we have. I know some people prefer the traditional style of katana when they are fighting, and I understand that, though I think many people would also welcome a bit of variety.
All of these weapons will have more flare in their weapon effects, impact effects and animations. I have included options for toggling the extra effects, such as blade glow, damage number particles, and impact particle effects. This way you can customize your weapon to your own tastes. There are also options for disabling the dashing, double jumping and special attacks, if your one of those who tends to accidently trigger one of these skills in the heat of combat, and prefer to fight without them.
I hope you enjoy them and please drop a notecard to Ayame Musashi in Second LIfe with any problems, suggestions, or requests. | |

 | Annual Riches Tournament - Meiji | |
|---|
The Twilight Clan will be hosting the Riches Tournament this year, with a whopping 12,000L$ in Prizes.1st $6000L 2nd $3000L 3rd and 4th $1500LTo register, please create a notecard that says "Meiji at Twilight - Your Name" and send them to JulieAnne Rau with the following information.
Include your name, your Clan, and your preferred weapon.
This tournament will be organised in a ladder tournament fashion. We will be accepting 32 registrations. The following are the required guidelines that must be met in order for you to be granted entrance into the tournament.
1. You must belong to a Clan. 2. You must have over 500 kills in Meiji 3. You can use any weapon you like that is available to anyone. Therefore the Wave will be excluded. (Sorry) 4. All tournament spars must take place in Meiji
The 32 players will be paired off (1 vs 1) and will be given 3 days to complete a best of 3 spars and report the winner to JulieAnne Rau. If a judge/observer is required, JulieAnne can provide a list of approved members. They are all Meiji officers. We are not limiting prims or AO but before the match takes place make sure you have agreed to spar with how you appear. If you disagree, get a representative to arbitrate (Meiji Officer), the guidelines are very simple (be respectful, if someone thinks your wearing too many prims, take them off). My expectation is that everyone will be reasonable.
JulieAnne will make a notecard with the pairing as soon as she has 32 fighters. She will contact people individually if they are accepted and who there first round will be. When She contacts you, you will be given a date and time that the match must be completed by. The matched pair (1 vs 1) will decide when to spar. Winner moves on to the next round and loser is eliminated from the tournament.

 | In Regards to "C:SI 2" | |
|---|
Recently there has been some misunderstanding due to a notecard proposing topics of community developer discussions. The C:SI devs would like to make it clear that those subjects were speculartory. We do not have any plans to create a brand new system (i.e. a C:SI 2). Infact we're moving forward with plans to improve the way we handle updates and the structure of our scripting so that we can more quickly make changes and create and maintain new weapons. Soon we will begin moving forward and hope to make up for the lack of updates we've had over the last year. We are renewed and excited about the possiblites for C:SI and hope to bring to light many of our existing works in progress, once they are fully underway. Thank you for sticking with us all this time. We appreciate everyone who helps renew and refresh the C:SI Clan community, createing new friendships, partnerships, and inspiring new spirit into the C:SI Community. These are all things we are quite happy to see and are always wishing our community happiness and continued enjoyment playing within the system we created.
Also as a side note: In order to prevent misunderstanding, such as the one mentioned above, we would like to make it clear that statements reguarding involvement in activities by the C:SI developers will come via the website and official channels only. If you have a community event, feel free to send a notecard describing the event to Haruko Fukai and we will make an effort to mention them on the website. | |

 | Merry Christmas C:SI! | |
|---|
Time again, the end of another year. C:SI has seen another milestone, achieving over a massive 3.5 Million Duels across Second Life, with over 24,000 Warriors. What else has the staying power of C:SI?
We are all very much alive and well. While the Dev's are the creators of the system, the community is it's Lifeblood. Anyone who picks up a sword is a part of C:SI, and contributes to its growth and wellbeing. The feedback from users, both positive and negative shows overwhelming support.
I would like to thank Ayame, for holding everything together and for all of her efforts and contributions. Robby, for being meticulous in his seemingly endless goal of providing the ideal combat expierence with the tools avilable to him in Second Life. Esprite, for his bottomless well of creative thought, his enthusiam and for lending his considerable knowledge. Arch, for being down in the trenches of endless code, fighting back LL's attempts at breaking everything, and for his efforts in making C:SI what it is today. Last, but certainly not least, KatanaBlade. While she may not create weapons, she does more behind the scenes to keep C:SI and it's Estates active and fresh than I think anyone will ever know, and for supporting C:SI from the very, very beginning.
Merry Christmas to the entire community, thank you for another great year! Have a Happy Holidays, and a Happy New Years. | |

 | New C:SI Weapon - Gotokuneko Katana | |
|---|
Ayame has released her new sword, the 'Gotokuneko Katana'. It is a Two-Handed Katana with removeable Tsuba, 7 sheath texture's, and 65 colour choices to name a few of the avilable options. It is avilable at any C:SI location in Second Life, including Samurai Island, and will soon be available for purchase on Xstreet SL. It's using the second set of sword animations like those on the Dynasty Flame

 | Daikon Forge vendors deleted in-world | |
|---|
As many of you are already aware, RobbyRacoon Olmstead was recently banned from Second Life. On September 10, shortly after logging in for about 30 minutes to verify and report that Ugur Tunwarm was selling copybotted copies of the Wave Katana in one of his outfits, Robby received an email from Linden Lab that his account was banned.
This came as a complete surprise, and still remains a mystery with no answers: No reason was given for this ban beyond a vague "violation of ToS" description no doubt used for many generic situations. In all subsequent communications with Linden by phone as well as support ticket, and by friends in-world, Linden Lab has flat refused to say why Robby was banned. There is no indication when, or if, Linden Lab will remove this ban.
Because of this mysterious action by Linden Lab, all of the Daikon Forge vendors in-world have been deleted. Without the ability to respond to support issues such as the all-too-common Asset Server glitches and other SL sketchiness, it would not be fair to prospective customers to leave the vendors out. When and if Robby's account is unbanned, he will again put out the Daikon Forge vendors.
Thank you all for your support and understanding, it is much appreciated. | |

 | Latest SL Release Candidate breaks Sheath/Draw feature | |
|---|
As reported by Arishia Nishi here on the forums, the latest Second Life Release Candidate viewer does not properly reflect changes to transparency on attached items, which results in the sheath and draw functionality of all Combat: Samurai Island weapons not working correctly in all cases.
It is bad enough that a very large number of people use the Release Candidate as their primary viewer, but at least those people can make the choice about whether they wish to use a broken viewer. It is critical that this problem is fixed before the Release Candidate becomes the official release, so please add your voice - and your vote - to let Linden Lab know that this is unacceptable by voting on VWR-13097 on the Second Life bug report system. | |

 | The End of Another Year! | |
|---|
Thanks from all of us at C:SI. We hope you've all had a great holiday! We've reached a couple milestones this year, breaking over 2 million duels fought by over 20,000 avatars! It has been pretty amazing to see the community grow so much and it's something we're all proud of haven been apart of.
After a particularly brutal semester Arch and I are ready to get back to work on C:SI. Though things have slowed down in the last few months, we're due for a new update to address some bugs (and switch to mono) before moving on to the new stuff!
Also, I'd like to thank Robby for letting people know some of us were still alive and Ayame for her dedication to work in SL and C:SI. (check out her sim "Musashi"). Special thanks to everyone who has been supporting Combat:Samurai Island and it's community!
Hope you've all had fun with us this year, we look forward to the next!
PS: Having a sushi chef as a family friend is awesome. | |
