Ok, I'm new to C:SI, but I'm throwing myself in with both feet. I've got Xavier's Jin Geom, and Archanox's Heart of Darkness, and I've got some great training from my clan Kyousei. However, there are a few things I can't seem to get a definate answer on.

1) When I block, I know that each blocked attack uses some of my stamina. If I should run out of stamina, do attacks start to do damage while I'm blocking?

2) I see that the screen under the "Options" button of my HUD is marked "Under Development." What new features can we expect to see there? Is there an estimated timeline for this section's completion?

3) What's the "History" tab that's located on the progress screen?

Ok, if you've read all that without expecting the next question to be "why is the sky blue" then you're a better person than I am. I'd appreciate any answers you can throw my way.

Welcome to C:SI Eben.

Running out of stamina does lead to the inability to block. It also leads to the inability to dash (double tap in any direction) and to perform special attacks. However, you can get a failure of block BEFORE your stamina bar is completely gone. Failure to block means you receive the full damage of the attacks. Trying to block while not having enough stamina also gives your opponent clues as to your situation. With the Ashes swords, like your Jin Geom, you enter this little crouching stance. With the Archatek Heart of Darkness (HoD), you just stand in the open stance. I can't recall what the Musashi blades do. But you might want to dash a few times and kill your stamina just to see what trying to block without stamina looks like. These unique positions are big clues to your opponent that you're in trouble.

No idea what the swordmakers have under development...

And the History displays your win-loss record against everyone you've formally Dueled with. That is by asking for duels via the circle HUD instead of just saying, "ya wanna?" and "ready." It also gives you dates and times of the spars if i recall.

Good luck and have fun!

"If I should run out of stamina, do attacks start to do damage while I'm blocking?"

I know Solace has already answered this, but I want to make it as clear as possible. If you don't have enough stamina to block, the animation won't happen when you press the block key. So it's not really that attacks will start to do damage while you're blocking, as you worded it in your question, but you will simply not be able to block at all.

Colin, I would suggest it depends on the sword then. I would agree with Solace. I have tried this experiment with Kiku where I used the Ashes sword and blocked while she hammered on it. At about 10% of stamina my avatar was still in the couching position but instead of a horizontal block, my katana dips down as if my character can not lift up its arms. This of course is most likely different between swords and yours may not have any animation?

Or perhaps you are commenting on at less than 10% stamina your animation may not go to the block, this I haven’t tried. Where what I have described is where the block fails while your in block.

Probably more information than Eben wanted but what the heck.

Yeah, I was thinking about when you aren't blocking and then try to start. I haven't noticed what happens if you are already blocking and then your stamina goes below what's required to block.

This is exactly the situation I was curious about, as I have a sparring partner that is non-stop. If I don't tank, he overwhelms me quickly. If I do tank, he whittles down my stamina. I had not thought to go out of mouselook to see if I was still in the crouch or not.

I'm practicing more movement and getting him before he gets me, but wanted to know for sure just how long I could get away with tanking before it was time to move. Apparently from what JulieAnne said, it is anytime before stamina hits about 25%.

Thank you all for your advice, it's greatly appreciated.
