There is a wide range of opinion on this topic...

Whenever I've brought up the subject before, I get mixed reactions. Some people like the idea, some people think it's too "video game"-like, some people like the challenge without it, etc.

I'd love to see what kind of broad consensus we could get on the subject, though. Feel free to encourage everyone to come put their opinions here :)

I prefer not having it visible. I like that c:si doesn't feel particularly cluttered with readouts during the spar. If you spar a lot I think, even if you don't count, you have a sense when your opponent is going to fall anyway.

A good katana fight is like a good conversation.

It's deeply engaging, reciprocal
and it flows smoothly.

Um... I wouldn't want an complete health bar for the enemy... But maybe something like dripping blood on the floor when really badly hurt or similar ways to show bad injuries might be good.

I think that would be very cool, or even some sort of limp or arm-hold anim when heavily wounded.

A good katana fight is like a good conversation.

It's deeply engaging, reciprocal
and it flows smoothly.

When they only have 10 HP or lower, the system should just say like "Kick their ass already!"
